You know, so many gurus and entrepreneurs out there, I sometimes feel like these obvious truths you talk of are invisible. It's like the proverbial elehant in the room. Hello! Not everyone is meant to be a writer just because there's Amazon!

Unfortunately, the Internet makes it easier to sell stupid things.

By the way, and please don't take this the wrong way, I think the sentence you give as an exampe is a bit long. I'd maybe cut the heaven and/or hell bit all together. I mean, it's obvious to the reader that you're listing distractions here.

Of course, that's just me and I'm basically no one when it comes to writing and editing, so you do you. :)
