Why Most New Writers Suck, And How Not To Be One Of Them
Disclaimer: this will piss you off.
It will piss you off because I’m pissed off writing it.
But to those ready to listen, maybe it’ll help open your eyes to how success works.
A couple of months ago, I left a comment on an article that explained how poorly the Medium Writers Challenge was organized. The author complained that writers don’t feel motivated to participate because the reward money isn’t evenly distributed.
Complaining, complaining. Whining whining.
Oh, you’re not going to participate in the challenge?
Is that what you wanted to say to the world today?
Excuse me while I yawn.
I left a comment saying it wasn’t about the money and that I’d be honoured to be in the 100 honorary mentions because I can use that when the time comes to query agents.
I was pissed, and it showed.
The author replied to my comment. She said, “I don’t understand where all the anger is coming from. We don’t all have novels in the works.”
I didn’t want to argue, so I pretended I wasn’t angry. I responded with something stupid.
