Not All Writers Will Make Great Money Writing — But You Can.
The f-word writers hate? Formula.
My days start between 6–7 am, and it’s go-go-go.
Two boys have to be washed up, dressed, fed. The house is usually a bit of a mess too. I need to get ready. It’s a miracle I haven’t marched out of the house in my pyjamas yet. It’s coming, though, I’m sure of it.
By the time I drop the toddler at pre-school and park out front of Starbucks, it’s 9 am. I take a deep breath and let my head fall on the headrest. I take out my phone, check e-mail, social media and Medium, and read a few stories.
I try to read positive and informative things. My brain is still mushy and susceptible, and I have a day’s work ahead of me. I don’t need a story that will throw me into a depression.
But the other day, accidentally, I read one.
It said all the articles that tell you you can make great money writing are bullshit. That the people writing them always hide something. That you can only make money if you write about making money, which sucks. That if Medium paid $1000 to all writers on the platform, it would go bankrupt.
It made a good case and had over 2K claps.
