Marriage In Short: It’s Both Boring And Great.
And only for future superheroes.
I’ve been married for over seven years now, and we’ve been together almost ten.
Some days, I don’t recognize myself. I always saw marriage as the most boring, no-imagination, go-with-the-flow way of life. What is the big deal about finding someone whose opinions you must consider for life? Why can’t I do whatever the hell I want?
Well, now I’m actually happy. I don’t know how my husband got me into this whole mess, but here we are.
However!
I will admit I’m also a little bored. I was a lot bored until recently, in fact. It’s getting better lately, I can feel it, but for a few years, it was rough.
So. If marriage will inevitably become tedious and difficult, is it worth it?
It starts with fireworks.
And you like the fireworks. So if they go away, what will be left?
Companionship? Oh, come on! You can do better than companionship. I mean, you have friends for that, right?
Newsflash: most of your friends will get married, and they will have children. If not, they will have very demanding careers.
