I know what you mean, but I think the right way to describe it is "Men fall in love with their eyes, women fall in love with their ears." Women simply aren't as visual as men. That's not to say men are superficial, I just think looks (meaning whatever they find attractive) is a must-have, then they look for everything else.
For women, it's easy to get the spark after you've talked to someone. We're attracted to men for their character, way of thinking and other qualities. There must be some physical compatibility, but it's not the first thing we look for.
