I Don’t Think Most Women Know How To Be Strong.

We learn strength from men.

I used to think I was a strong woman.

Ha! Funny me.

Life slowly showed me that my way of being strong was incompatible with having a happy family. It was incompatible with happiness, period.

Then came the inevitable question: should I be strong or happy?

I think many women ask that same question in the privacy of their own minds. Should they be strong, or should they admit how they feel? Should they be strong, or should they ask for help? Should they be strong, or be funny, light, careless?

Well, there is a secret third option: learning how to be a strong woman. Because that other strength… It’s mostly a well-covered weakness.

We learn strength from men.

“Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition.”– Marilyn Monroe

For men, being strong is the opposite of being emotional.

For men, being strong means never asking for help.

It means being right, always. It means being attractive to as many women as possible. It means having the ability and means to control others — the more, the better.
