I think that writing and especially copywriting is still a very sought after service, so you can find some clients. Try to develop a gig you're proud of and go for it. New freelancers usually get a little boost from Fiverr in the beginning so you should see some traction. I'd also look into the Seller Plus and Seller Pro programs--these are almost guaranteed to bring you results.

If you want to freelance and offer services in the 3-digit price range, I'd say Fiverr is the best place online to do it.
