Great stuff!

I’d just like to add how important confidence is when talking to a person. You can’t possibly my focus on making someone feels good if your internal focus is on you, and how you are so awesome, too.

That was my problem when I tried coaching. Somehow, I now realize, the conversations were not really about my clients, but about how good of a coach I am.

And it’s sometimes so deep that you don’t even realize you’re doing it. Your intentions are good, and yet, there’s a voice in your head that’s louder than the voice of the person in front of you, and that internal voice says things like “This was the right question! Good job!” Or “This was the wrong thing to say, sucker!” Or “Wow, you’re dealing so much better in life than this guy is.”

I’m better at this now, but it takes work. It takes work to build confidence and to become happy from the inside, and to realize that it’s not about you.

I just thought that’s worth mentioning.

Thank you, Barry!
