Good tips and the second time I hear about Scrivener. Must try.

I started typing up parts of my novel on my phone when I had a baby, directly in Notes (not very smart, but it synchs with Notes on my laptop, so when I sit in front of the keyboard, I just copy it to the file of the novel). I’d stay awake in the middle of the night, unable to go back to sleep after I’ve calmed him down, and the story would start moving in my head, especially around 4–5am.

Then I reach for the phone. I can’t get up and go to the other room out of fear that the sound of the door opening and closing will wake him up. Mobile is my only option.

The fun part? When I wake up in the morning and see what I’ve written, it’s usually quite good. As if an unknown writer takes over my fingers during the night.

Thanks for sharing!
