What’s More Important Than Vaccines? Closing The Gap Between Us.
Hocus-pocus, I’m an anti-vaxxer.
I live in a country where only 15% of the population has taken a coronavirus vaccine.
Coronavirus vaccines are readily available here. They’re free. Getting a shot takes a few minutes since there are no lines anywhere. And we have a variety of them: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, the Johnson& Johnson's one and I think one more. I’ve lost track of all the different kinds by now, to be honest.
I got vaccinated a few months ago when the only available vaccine was AstraZeneca. It was right around the time when hundreds of people — especially young women — reported getting thrombosis after vaccination with AZ.
I was a little worried. For 20 days after the first and second shots, I was unusually focused on my body, watching for headaches and other potential symptoms.
But I was fine. I am fine.
Back then, I could understand why no one was getting vaccinated.
Now, I can’t. Autumn is coming, then winter. With it, bad weather. According to specialists, the fourth wave of the virus has already started.
I feel disappointed in the people here. So much so, I’ve been looking into immigration over the past few months.
