“And mom & dad can hardly wait for school to start again.”

When I sense that my 52 year old divorced mother is getting a little depressed (like around holidays), I’m quick to remind her that I envy her sometimes.

I love my child and my husband, and I hope I’ll have another kid soon, but sometimes I’d like to jump in a time machine and spend Christmas with my 20-something year old kids who are potty-trained and play Dixit.

And mom, she gets to watch the NYE fireworks without worrying they’ll wake the baby she spent the last one hour putting to sleep.

I’m talking about New Years, because that’s the night she actually spent alone.

Anyway, thanks for putting this out into the world.

Both sides of the coin have their positives and negatives.

Just enjoy where you are. (As I’m trying to do now that baby is teething.)
