Lie: Your most difficult times will be when something bad happens.

We’re taught life gets difficult when we lose a job, or get rejected, or end a relationship, or lose a loved one.

I’ve been through all those things, and I’ll tell you this — with a bit of self-love and the support of the people around you, you sooner or later bounce back. Not just that, you give yourself time and space to do it, and everyone around you understands that. It’s what you’re supposed to do.

You wanna talk about really difficult times?

Truth: Your most difficult times will be when something great happens.

The most difficult time of my life wasn’t when I lost my dad, even though it was heart-breaking and it took me a while to get over.

But it’s something that you can “get over”, meaning it happens and then it’s over, and you have all the time in the world to deal with it.

You know what I find much more difficult? Raising kids. I have a great family, but I’ve never been more physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted in my life. I’ve never felt so confused…
